The Yaesu FT-1000D was at the top of the food chain in ham radios and probably the best HF transceiver ever made by Yaesu!  To this day, many amateur radio operators prefer this radio with its brickwall analog crystal (8 pole) filters, over any of the new digital DSP models available today.  The reason for this is many!  For one, many will argue that the newer digitized DSP filters (or should we say processors) muddy the sound and just aren't as effective as true analog filters.  The Yaesu FT-1000D transceiver had some of the best receiver specs compared to nearly any new ham radio you can find on the market today!

What made the Yaesu FT-1000D ham radio so great?  Well Yaesu invested more than 25K engineering hours into the research and design of this transceiver, to ensure it's performance was untouched by any ham radio ever made!   In addition to its top of the line receiver specs, the Yaesu FT-1000D actually had two of them (meaning it had true dual receivers)!  With its dual receive selected you could monitor/listen to two frequencies simultaneously and even balance the audio to your pleasing between the two!  This masterpiece of perfection also had a built in auto tuner made to handle its 200 watts output!
